The Chamber Team
Message from the Chairman
Here we are in 2008. An interesting year with talk of a credit crunch and house prices remaining static, or maybe falling. We can only wait and see.
Prospects are certainly looking good in our borough. Wandsworth town centre has development at South Thames College and Young’s Brewery site, the Business Village and the Southside Shopping Centre are all being developed to encompass a mix of residential, business and leisure. In East Battersea we have the redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market and the Power Station project.. The Economic Development Office is currently working on longer term plans for the regeneration of Roehampton which will help the area greatly. And we shouldn’t forget the 2012 Olympic Games are getting closer.
All these large projects should bring more residents and businesses to the borough of Wandsworth, which should help our existing businesses.
At the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, we look forward to introducing the next phase of our website which I feel will become more proactive for all our members offering more individual business profiles and promotion opportunities.
We always look forward to welcoming new members to the chamber. When businesses get together and network, there is a saying, “force in numbers”. Small businesses working smartly and sharing business information tend to do well.
You can join from this website. All you need is one good enquiry a year to pay for your membership!
Finally, a big thank you to all the Executive Board for their contribution during the year.
I wish all our members a prosperous business outlook for 2008.
With best wishes
Chris Wyatt
Chairman,
Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce.
